Implementation of Work Packages

Data collection on European UAS applied research and regional cooperation

The aim of the WP, composed by 5 tasks, is to 1) obtain an overarching mapping of the previous work done in defining the UAS applied RDI and its role; 2) Defining the suitable indicators on applied RDI; 3) Finding national best practise examples; 4) Map the current national situation, its needs and development possibilities.
The information gathered through this work package will be used as the basis of the development of the working hypothesis of UAS applied RDI and regional cooperation role in WP 2. In addition the work package will collect applied RDI best practices from different countries which will be included in the project database in WP4 and used for the purposes of the project research.
The assessments done in this WP are based on the qualitative methodology – focus groups and a survey – RDI programmes, stakeholder’s interests and obstacles within the research collaboration between SMEs and HE institutions are surveyed in the participating countries. The results of the desk research and survey will reflect the national context, policies and applied RDI and regional cooperation practices, including demands and needs in building further strategic alliances among the stakeholder groups.

Development of the UAS self-refection tool

WP Leader CHES

The overall aim of the WP, composed by 4 tasks, is to: 1) Analyse the data collected from the different sources in WP1; 2) Define a working definition for the project on UAS applied RDI characteristics; 3) Develop alternative indicators to measure the impact of UAS activities; 4) Develop self-refection tools for the UAS.
The overall theme of the WP2 is to do a deep-analysis of the data and all the results gathered through the tasks from WP1 and to develop the results further into tools and working definition of UAS applied RDI characteristics, which will both be tested in WP3. In addition the WP2 will develop and suggest alternative indicators for measuring the UAS impact. The outputs of the WP will be used as the basis of the work in WP3.

Development (testing) of the self-refection tool

The overall aim of the WP is to: 1) Test the self-refection tool created in WP2; 2) Review and edit the tested working definition, tool and indicators based on the testing; 3) Validate the alternative indicators and working definition developed in WP2.
The main focus of WP3 is to test the outputs developed in previous WPs. In order to modify the previous outputs the testing during WP3 will be mainly done by the end-users of the outputs, the UAS in the participating countries through the national Rectors’ conferences. At the end of the WP the main output will be the reviewed working definition, alternative indicators and self-refection tool, which are modified based on the feedback and practical input of the UAS.

Sustaining the UAS impact cooperation

WP Leader THEA

The overall aim of this WP, composed by 5 tasks, is to: 1) Re-evaluate and validate the working definition of the role of UAS applied RDI and regional knowledge transfer and co- operation; 2) Identify the need for future development needs and possibilities and propose new areas for development within the UAS/PHE in the upcoming years; 3) Finalise and mainstream the project database; 4) Create policy recommendations based on project results.
The work of the WP will be based on all the work and results gathered so far during the previous work packages.

Support Work Packages

Quality Management

WP Leader TKK

The WP5 will manage the quality of the project management and performance. It will consist of the following main activities:
Quality and Risk Management Plan (to effectively support the project internal quality culture, where success criteria and procedures to monitor the project with respect to objectives, milestones, and deliverables and partnership agreements will be described).
Periodic quality assessment (to execute periodic quality assessment measures to ensure that the project meets the high standards of quality of the consortium, both in terms of management as well as content of the project outcomes from all the partners).
And last, but not the least, an external audit of the project finances, conducted to ensure sound financial management of the project, and in order to support the efficient use of available funds, thus contributing to the quality of the project management.
Therefore, the overall objective of WP5 is to ensure that the project is adequately managed and that the tasks are performed and results delivered by all consortium partners according to the project plan, including adequate support from the project coordinator for administration and reporting.

Project Management and Coordination

The aim of the WP, composed by 5 tasks, is to guarantee and evaluate the quality of the project management and the outputs. The project will draw upon EURASHE’s experience of efficient and effective project management, and will utilise best-practice governance structures and tools to execute the project.

Project Exploitation and Dissemination

The aim of the WP is to: 1) Create a common visual design for the project to maximise the publicity for the project and its outputs. This will include developing joint messages and templates in order to guarantee the consistency of the project communications; 2) Promote the project and its results and outputs as widely as possible; 3) Stakeholder analysis; 4) Presentations at events; 5) Project publications.
